Story #2- Part 1
Hi! Sorry about the whole Lights, Camera, Action fiasco and the fact that all the words went completely off the screen. Anyway, I have another story. Let's hope the same problem doesn't happen with this one. This one isn't an article. It's one you might like if you're a fan of pets (Like me!). About the Doris Parks story, by the way... I don't think I'll continue it. I feel like I'm a lot more interested in writing this one. This one doesn't really have chapters, but I'll publish it in parts like I did with the Perfect Town story. Here's part one. Enjoy!
Part 1
Cat glared at the furball in front of him. Puppy innocently snored on Cat’s favorite mat, which he was planning to lounge on earlier.
“Move, you furry maniac!” Cat meowed at Puppy. Puppy stirred, her eyes still closed shut. “GET UP!” Cat was screaming now with anger.
Puppy’s eyes fluttered open. “What?”
“I said get off of my mat, dog!” Cat ordered, but only to get a bark back from Puppy.
“Don’t call me dog! My name is Puppy!”
Their bickering lasted an hour. It was an hour of fury, according to Cat, and for Puppy, it was simply an hour of shame. “Why can’t you let me use your mat for just once, Cat? It’s so fluffy and warm…” Cat didn’t argue back. He liked to hear compliments about his mat.
Finally, when Puppy decided to stop trailing on and on about Cat’s mat, Cat took this as an advantage. The moment Puppy closed her slobbery mouth, Cat flew at her, his claws extended.
“AAAHHH!” Puppy screamed. She finally thought they were getting along, but nothing had changed.
No mat, no matter how soft, how shaggy, or how irresistibly white, was worth all this trouble. So Puppy reluctantly hopped off the mat while Cat landed a foot in front of her, her tail hanging low. Cat, his grey nose high up in the air, triumphantly strode onto his mat and soaked up all the glory while it lasted.
Puppy scowled under her breath, “I’ll have a nice nap on that glorious mat some day. I will!”
“What was that, Puppy?” Cat asked, though he heard what she had said. He promised to himself that he would guard his mat 24/7, so Puppy could never lay a paw on it again.
Puppy ignored his question and trotted into Jon’s room. Puppy sighed, looking up at the bed. It was three times as tall as her, and she couldn’t get up, no matter how much she tried.
Puppy glanced at him, avoiding eye contact. “If I get on top of this bed, I’ll have a much softer sleeping place than you! And when Jon comes home from work, I’ll jump off. He’ll never know I’ve been here.”
“He might find out. Do you shed while you sleep?” Cat asked, smirking. Puppy’s snout turned a light shade of pink. “Mind your own business, Cat!” She barked at him, making another effort to jump onto Jon’s bed.
Cat watched as she jumped up, dug her front paws into the covers off the bed, and tried to get the rest of her body up onto the bed. She jumped forward even more, but only to land back on the floor with a SMACK! Cat chuckled. “You’ll never get up there, dog! You’re the tiniest animal I’ve ever seen! Well…” Cat thought for a moment. “Maybe you’re a little bigger than those beetles outside. Ohh, those are delicious!”
Puppy rolled her eyes as Cat went on and on about the “sweet and crunchy taste of those beetles.”
Finally, after many trials of jumping onto Jon’s bed, Puppy stared with satisfaction at Cat’s shocked face as she finally jumped up onto the center of the mattress. All that bickering was worth it, Puppy thought as she cuddled under Jon’s blanket.
Hi! This is WonderGem. I'm on a different computer on a different account, so it shows me as just a Blog Viewer. Anyway, sorry about the black part at the end. Everything else was grey, so I have no idea how that happened. Maybe I took too much space or something, but I can't do anything about it.
