Hello! I'm in a crafty mood today, so today's font is "Gochi Hand," a handwriting font, as you might've noticed. So the other day, an amazing thing happened. I'll tell you that story first, and then I'll tell you about the past recent days.

So my cousins came over last weekend. Saturday was pretty fun, but Sunday morning was the best. We were all watching TV in the family room. For about half an hour, I guess.

But we all jumped out of our chairs when we heard my dad call from the driveway, "Do you guys want to rescue a bird?"

It sounded completely bizarre, but at the same time really exciting! So we ran down the stairs and to the garage.

My uncle was holding a tiny green bird about the size of a computer mouse in his hands. The bird was beautiful, with shiny green feathers and a long black beak.

But it wasn't moving. It was staring at all of us and shivering. My brother held the bird and took it back upstairs. First we showed it to everyone else in the house. And then, when the bird still didn't move, we got worried.

I grabbed a napkin from the kitchen counter and laid it on the island. My brother gently put the bird down on the napkin as we tried to figure out what to do. We thought about calling the people who rescue animals (I honestly have no idea what they are called), but that's when my brother said, "Water! Maybe it needs water!"

My mom took a tiny plate from the cupboard, and poured just a few drops of water in it. Then my aunt held the plate right in front of the bird's beak.

It looked like the bird was ignoring the water, not drinking it at all. But then a few moments later, the bird literally hopped onto it's two legs! It was standing! Before anyone could say anything, it started flying around our kitchen like it owned the place. It landed right in the hall where the front door was, so my uncle picked it up, and my aunt rushed to the front door to open it. We all went outside, and my uncle stretched out his arms, waiting for the bird to fly away.

Then my brother came. He asked to hold the tiny thing, and right when the bird fell in his hands, it got back up and flew away! It was pretty sad after it flew away, but it was still really awesome.

My brother kept asking if it would come back, but it never did. My dad and uncle said that they were talking in the bedroom, and they saw the bird crash into the bedroom window and fall onto the driveway, so they went and saw what happened. And then they called us.

    It was awesome!

I'll tell you about the past week in a different post, because this one was already super long. So chao!
