The First Post of Summer (Kinda Depressing)

Image
Hey!     It's been a while since I've written a full-on blog post, but contrary to previous times this has happened, I don't really have much to say.      School ended almost three weeks ago, which means that summer has started almost three weeks ago. And yes, I remember last year. It was very different to this year. Last year was a summer of fun and going to my old school playground everyday and meeting my friends constantly and singing songs whenever I wanted. But this summer is different. I'm focusing on my writing and reading and have actual priorities, unlike last year. It's been a lot more serious.       I remember last year I posted a decent amount of times, about what I was doing in the summer and how I felt about entering middle school.     Well, I can tell you one thing: you won't be finding that kind of stuff this year. I'll just be continuing camps and writing and all that. So if there was one thing ...

Good to Buy (PART 2: FINAL)

(continued) The supermarket wasn’t as deserted as earlier. There were four employees in the store, one of them including his father, the new cashier, who had left for work earlier that morning.   “That’s weird,” Lilli said, scratching her neck. “There’s supposed to be at least ten workers here.” She shrugged. “Maybe it’s not their shift.” Timothy’s father waved through the window, indicating to enter. “Let’s go!” Lilli said for the third time. Timothy opened the supermarket door. A wave of dry, acrid-scented air washed over him. It smelled weird, of decay. “That your kid, Greg?” a worker asked Timothy’s father, interrupting his thoughts. The worker was tall and wiry, with wisps of hair on his head and a short, scratchy beard. He noticed a name tag on his uniform: Eugene. Timothy glanced up at his father, who was proudly nodding. Eugene smiled at Timothy (or at least he thought it was a smile), and he noticed Eugene was missing a tooth.    He chose not to di...

Good to Buy: My New Story!

Good to Buy Timothy Caswell was lonely for most of his life. He grew up in a small town in Iowa and moved around the United States for as long as he could remember. After his mother, a wealthy land developer had died six years ago, Timothy and his father had struggled to maintain their home and happy life. Since then, he helped his father look for new jobs all around the country. That’s why it was a big deal when his father heard about a new job in a small town in Texas from a friend. It was a small job, a cashier in an old, rickety grocery store called Good to Buy, and Timothy knew his father wouldn’t earn much, but he was grateful for it. It would mean that he and his father needn’t move to a new home about three times a year again. “Are you sure about this, Papa?” Timothy asked when he had gotten his first look at their new home. It was small. Very, very small. The walls weren’t painted. The couches were ripped. The kitchen was filled with roaches. Yo...

Hello from the new year!

Hellooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!       Okay. So. Again, for, like, the eightieth time, I'm writing for the first time in six months. I have a LOT to say.       First of all:  HAPPY NEW YEAR!      Second of all:  For those of you (out of my very little number of readers) who are in elementary, moving onto middle school without an older sibling to advise you, I'm in the middle of writing a guide to middle school! I started it a while ago, and most likely what I'll be doing is posting chapter by chapter, just like my previous stories.     Third of all: I started a new short story! Okay, to be fair, I started it a WHILE ago, but it'll definitely be coming out by my last day of school (Jun. 17). It's actually turning out to be pretty long, though, so maybe it won't even be a short story anymore.     Fourth of all: I'm going to India in the summer! For the firs...

Cousins 😁

Right. Before I go, I wanted to talk about COUSINS. I literally never  understood this until like a few months ago.      So. Your First Cousins     Your parents' siblings' kids. Your Second Cousins     Your parents' cousins' kids. Your Third Cousins     Your parents' second cousins 's kids. And it goes on. That's basically it 😅. So Chai and Paradise are my second cousins. Our other cousin who came with his dad to NC (Read the post below) is also my second cousin, but he's Chai and Paradise's first cousin. Yeah. That's all. Now  chao!

A Lot of Things to Tell You!

Hiiii!!!! It's been a pretty long time. My last post was in the beginning of summer, and now there less than a week left until middle school!!! I went from excited to nervous to terrified to excited again. It's been crazy . We got our schedules yesterday and the school supplies list came out sometime before. Everything's starting to feel so real .     Okay, more about middle school later. So in the beginning of August we had the BEST trip EVER to North Carolina, and even though the car ride was super long, it was completely worth it.     We reached at like 3am and my aunt and uncle were awake because it was their new house and they were waiting for us to arrive. There were also a few of their other friends there but I was too tired to do anything, and everything else that day was completely crazy.     There were no beds or anything because it was a new house, so we had to drive all the way to South Carolina (there were a lot  of tr...

SUMMER Stuff

Image
Hiii! I just checked the calendar, and exactly TWO weeks ago was our last day of school! It's 9:14 am right now, which means two weeks ago I was in Morning Meeting at school on our last day. I still miss fifth grade. It was fun. I still don't know how I feel about entering middle school, but I guess I'm kinda excited.          Anyway, I'm kind of bored right now. I'm waiting for my math class to start. Apparently in middle school we're going to miss the regular classes since we're going to Honors math (I've never heard of this way of teaching Honors before, but I don't know.). So the classes are meant to catch us up on the regular classes we were supposed to go to.     The classes are slightly boring because I already know most of the stuff. Especially since the classes take TWO hours. From 10:30 am to 12:30 am. Annoying . But it's fine I guess. The teacher's really nice.     So yeah. I don't know anything else to write r...
